Melanie Dempsey

About Me

Melanie Dempsey is a senior at Father McGivney Catholic High School. In school, she is a member of the National Honor Society, math team, and drama club crew. Outside of school, she devotes herself to playing piano as well as enjoying her hobbies such as reading, cooking and baking, and lifting weights. Melanie is still deciding on her major next year, but is leaning towards a STEM related field. Working as a sole proprietor (piano instructor, math tutor, and running a stand at the Land of Goshen Community Market) has been a great learning experience for Melanie and she hopes to continue building necessary business skills to succeed in the future. She is so thankful for the unique experience CEO offers and cannot wait to see how this year unfolds!

Melanie Dempsey’s business, Knot Your Average Dough, creates ready-to-eat sourdough knots. There are a variety of sweet and savory flavors that have the classic tangy sourdough flavor while incorporating new and exciting twists! This business is catered towards anyone that needs a decadent and flavorful breakfast, dessert, or snack. To learn why this bread is not just your average dough, come see us at Edwardsville CEO Trade Show or the Land of Goshen Community Market on select Saturdays this summer. After high school, Melanie plans to major in chemical engineering to prepare herself for a career working with renewable energy.
