Our students kicked off their first session with DOUG VILLHARD, our very own Chief Entrepreneurial Extraordinaire!
As the Academic Director for Entrepreneurship at WashU and a successful entrepreneur himself, Doug knows a thing or two about turning ideas into action!
Through a fun, hands-on activity, Doug challenged our students to rethink how they approach work, demonstrating why LIMITING WORK IN PROGRESS can actually help teams accomplish MORE.
He also introduced the principles behind KANBAN, a visual approach to managing tasks and improving workflow.
Three big takeaways:
🔨 VISUALIZE THE WORK — Make tasks and priorities visible so everyone knows what needs to get done.
💭 LIMIT WORK IN PROGRESS — Focus on finishing tasks instead of starting too many at once.
👏 IMPROVE COLLABORATIVELY — Work together to identify bottlenecks and continuously improve.
The biggest lesson? Being BUSY doesn't always mean being PRODUCTIVE!
Perfect timing as our students work together to bring their class business to life!
A HUGE thank you to Doug for sharing his time, expertise, and energy with our students. We're looking forward to more great lessons together!
